I remember the day I got the bad news. I was 20 years old and I was in the middle of a nearly impossible squat session. Between sets, while trying to catch my breath, an “older” personal trainer (he was probably in his thirties) came over and offered some “advice”—unsolicited, of course.

There are limitless possibilities for cooking and flavoring salmon. Here is an out of the ordinary twist that combines citrus and mint to compliment that ever-gratifying crispiness of seared salmon. For this recipe, prepare the sauce first so that you can serve the salmon when it's hot and crisp. And don't forget to add a nice helping of veggies to this dish. Try some grilled asparagus for an extra special treat. Now on with the show . . .

How many times have you heard the expression, “looks are deceiving”?  This is definitely the case when it comes to dealing with processed foods.  Processed foods, by design, are meant to appeal to us in terms of looks and taste.  Unfortunately, little attention has been given to ensuring their nutritional value and their safety.  Yes, I said safety.

Many beginning exercisers are concerned about using proper form when working out. We have all heard about the evils of using bad form. In general, form is important BUT - don't sacrifice your workout to the "Form Police."

The dietary supplement market has exploded in recent years.  It is not an exaggeration to say that it is a multi-billion dollar industry that currently includes over 50,000 products including vitamins, minerals, herbs, amino acids, metabolites, etc., with 1,000 new supplements being introduced each year.  Therefore with such market saturation, it really is not too surprising to learn that more than two-thirds of Americans take some type of dietary supplement, according to the FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition.
